Autumn Wishlist - Pinup Girl Clothing Edition!

Monday, September 28, 2015
Oh Autumn, the time of leaves changing, pumpkin flavored everything, Halloween, chilly days... I love autumn. The change from warm weather to sweater weather is such a fun transition. I am looking forward to rainy days, soy chai tea lattes (I never could quite get into PSL), cozy nights watching movies and trying lots of new soup recipes. I think my favorite part of the change of seasons, is NEW CLOTHES!

If you follow Pinup Girl Clothing, the lovely owners Micheline Pitt and Laura Byrnes, some of their models, hairdressers, makeup artists on social media... (Okay maybe I'm a teensy bit obsessed and wish I could work there and model for them) you have probably seen behind the scenes sneak previews of some of the new items coming out this Autumn/Holiday. The entire PUG team is SO talented and I am always in awe that they can make each new piece and collection just a little bit more exciting than the last. I. CAN'T. WAIT. Take my money Pinup Girl Clothing!!!

Without further a do, I want to talk about some things on my Autumn clothing wish list. These things are perfect for this time of year, and can be accessorized with coats, scarves, boots, tights, hats, gloves... I'm already getting carried away by all the possibilities!

For those of you who know me, know that I might have a slight obsession with Disneyland and all things Disney related. When I was browsing the Pinup Girl Clothing website and saw this skirt, it was a no brainer that it was going to be my first Jenny skirt to begin my collection. Peter Pan is one of my favorite Disney movies, and it is my favorite ride at Disneyland.

For Dustin and I, Peter Pan is kind of our thing. We went to Disneyland together for the first time together this last January, and it was such a special and magical vacation. It is now a place we plan on visiting every year, or more if we can swing it. I would like us to be annual pass holders at some point (check out the cute video he made of our trip here). Every day on our trip, Peter Pan's Flight was the first ride we rode. We also bought the Wendy and Peter pins for our denim vests. Dustin has Peter and I have Wendy. Since Disneyland and Peter Pan have been something very special to us, I found it very thoughtful, romantic and sweet - that Dustin had custom Peter Pan themed Mickey ears made for me for my birthday this year!

The lovely lady that made these adorable ears for me is Kami, at KB Bows and Bowties. She has a Etsy shop of all kinds of adorable hair bows, bow ties and Mickey ears. The quality of the ears is absolutely amazing. It is very clear that she puts love into each and every one of her designs, to make them unique and special for every customer. They're comfortable, and I can tell that I will be able to wear them all day in the park without any issues.

What is your favorite Disneyland memory? Tell me in the comments below!

Lipstick Diaries

Wednesday, July 8, 2015
For me, red lipstick brings my entire outfit together; most often I feel incomplete without it. I admit, every time I walk into Sephora or MAC I look for a new red to add to my collection. You can never have too many red lipsticks! Every red has a slightly different hue, and finish. I tend to wear different ones depending on what I am doing and where I'm going. Today I'm going to share with you my favorites!

1. Ruby Woo by MAC was the first red lipstick I ever purchased years ago. At the time, I didn't know anything about lip liner, but luckily this lipstick is very, very matte. Meaning that it didn't feather, run or smudge without a lip liner. However, when I wear this one and eat, I usually need to touch it up just a bit. This is necessary with any lipstick. This lipstick is perfect for a busy day of errands, being in class or going to work without having to worry about it throughout the day. Ruby Woo retails for $16. The lip liner I love to use with this one is MAC's lip pencil in Brick - which retails $16 as well.

2. Red Lizard by NARS has been a long time favorite of mine. This one is semi-matte; it is the perfect combination of matte and creamy. It goes on like butter and doesn't budge throughout the day. This lipstick is great for daily wear. I also like to wear Brick lip pencil underneath this, as it helps it hold and look freshly applied throughout the day. This one retails for $27. It is a little pricier, but it is worth the splurge!

3. Viva Glam I by MAC is my favorite darker red lipstick. It's a deep blood red color, but not too dark. This one is fun when I feel like changing up the pace a little bit. This lipstick is matte so you don't have to worry about it moving around too much, with the help of lip liner of course. Brick lip pencil matches this shade almost perfectly. This one retails for $16.

4. Relentlessly Red by MAC is a AMAZING. This one leans on the pink side, and is really fun to wear. I purchased it for the first time last summer, and I have loved it ever since. This one is matte, which I love. Matte is my preferred finish across the board. What I love most about this one is that I can play around with different lip pencils to make it look a different color. My go to lip pencil for this one is MAC's lip pencil in Beet ($16). My next favorite lip pencil under this shade is MAC lip pencil in Magenta ($16), because it creates a really bright pink color. Next time you're in MAC pick up a tube of Relentlessly Red and have some fun! This one retails for $16.

5. Lady Danger by MAC is vibrant, orangey-red coral lip color that I love so much!! I haven't found (or taken the time to find) the right lip pencil for this shade, so I usually wear this on it's own. It is so bright and fun. I always get complimented when I am wearing this shade. It is definitely worth adding to your collection! I mean, who doesn't love a bright, cheery red lip? Retails for $16.

6. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw is the lipstick I have been wearing the most lately. My sister bought it for me for Christmas, and it has changed my life!! Let me tell you, it truly is everlasting! This line of liquid lipsticks is kiss proof - my boyfriend won't kiss me when I'm wearing lipstick, because he doesn't want to look like he is also wearing red lipstick; this lipstick is the only one that has never transferred onto his lips. I only have to touch it up a little bit after eating. It lasts all day without any feeling dry. No need for lip liner. Just apply and go. So easy! I cannot wait to get my hands on other shades!! This one retails for $20.

Getting to Know Me

Sunday, June 28, 2015
Hi there! My name is Erica. I'm 22 and I currently live in Reno, Nevada with my incredibly handsome boyfriend Dustin, and our dog Griffey. I work in grocery, so you may run into me in a t-shirt and jeans, but trust me, I am dreaming about slipping into a dress as soon as I clock out!

If I had to describe my style, it is probably a cross between Betty Draper, Joan Calloway and Dita Von Teese (my ultimate inspiration), with some modern twists. I am most comfortable in a dress, with my hair curled and red lipstick perfectly applied. If I had it my way I would never wear jeans again! I'm a natural blonde gone blue black and I've been everywhere in between.

On any given day you may find me at home watching The Office reruns or Mad Men, enjoying the great outdoors (most likely Lake Tahoe) with my beau, or trying to do something with the massive amount of hair on my head; all of which with a coffee in hand. I'm very close with my family, and I'm always looking for a new road trip adventure, or an excuse to go to Disneyland. For those of you who know me, you can probably vouch for my insane Disneyland obsession!

I can't wait to start sharing with you!
